Maastricht University (UM) is a university with an international orientation. The university strives to utilize this international atmosphere in the classrooms through a problem-based learning approach. UM is an expanding university with a student population of 18,000 - spread into six faculties. The exchange agreement with UM is at the Department of Data Science and Knowledge Engineering at the Faculty of Science and Engineering.

About Maastricht

Maastricht is the capital of the Limburg province (approx. 120,000 inhabitants) and is located on both sides of the Meuse River. The city is one of the oldest in the region and it, therefore, has a lot of exciting culture and history.

"Over the past decades, Maastricht has changed from a quiet provincial capital to a vibrant, international student city. More than 10 per cent of the inhabitants are students, and almost half of those are international." (UM)
