If you / your group fail to hand in your thesis before the deadline, The Study Administration will contact you via email after the deadline and inform you of the following consequences:
Within 2 weeks after you have received the email you must make an adjustment to the existing problem statement in co-operation with your supervisor. The objective is to make it more realistic that you will be able to hand in the thesis by the new deadline.
You upload the adjusted problem statement in a folder on your project page.

In addition to updating your problem statement again, you must make a written plan for the rest of your thesis work, also within a 2-week-limit. The plan should contain an overview of subsidiary goals and planned meetings with your supervisor.
The plan is meant to be a help for you to complete your thesis on time.
You upload the adjusted problem statement and the written plan in a folder on your project page.
In special cases you / your group can obtain an exemption from the submission deadline if, for instance, one of you have been affected by illness or the death of a close relative. And you depend on each other for the submission. You can also apply if you have become a father or mother.
How to apply
If you want to postpone the submission deadline due to illness or child birth, you must apply for an exemption and submit either a medical certificate or birth certificate as documentation.
Fill out the 'Exemption form' and tick off the box “Other”. Please specify in the application that you apply for an exemption to postpone the submission deadline.
In the application, if you are ill, you must explain the circumstances of your illness, and how this has affected your ability to work on your thesis. You need to send it at the latest within 8 working days after the submission deadline.
