Why evaluate?
Your feedback on the supervision process is a cornerstone in quality assurance of project supervision at ITU and your chance to influence aspects of supervision of projects that matter to you.
Supervisors carefully go through your feedback and use it to adjust supervision practices. Future students will also benefit from your feedback, so the impact of your participation in the evaluation reaches far beyond your own project.
How do I evaluate supervision?
The day after you submit your project, you receive an email linking to short survey (you can also access it straight from your project page in LearnIT). The survey is open for one week.
After exams, your supervisor goes carefully through all survey results in order to understand whether the supervision process needs attention.
Anonymity
Some faculty supervise many projects each semester, while others only supervise a few. Thus, it is not possible to ensure anonymity in the survey. Therefore, your replies will only become available to the supervisor afterthe exam.
If the results of the supervision evaluation survey show that there is a need to adjust the supervision process, access to the supervision agreement will be given to employees working with quality assurance.
What happens after the supervision evaluation?
Projects are submitted throughout the year, so we pool evaluation results and follow up twice a year, in Spring and Autumn. In the illustration below, you can see how your input becomes part of quality assuring supervision at ITU.
