Abstract: What is, and what could be the role of playing in the current and future worlds shaped by the climate and energy crisis? In this talk, I analyze the role of play during the climate catastrophe, and will imagine what type of play we will need when this world ends and others substitute it.

On November 18th, Miguel Sicart, from the Section of Play, Culture and AI, will present some thoughts on play in the climate crisis. Join us for an interesting discussion, and bring your own thoughts and experiences! Miguel Sicart is a Professor of Digital Play at the Play, Culture, and AI section of the IT University of Copenhagen. Miguel is a games scholar who has studied the ethics of games, the role of play in computational culture, and the ridiculousness of software. His research can be found in ridiculous.software and miguelsicart.net.
