As a non-EU/EEA student, you are required to have obtained a visa prior to your arrival in Denmark. As an international student in Denmark, you need to apply for a Civil Registration Number, which is called a CPR number. The CPR-number is a requirement. It is an online application process and you can fill in the application when there is one month or less until you reside in Denmark. Please note that you need a residence permit and a housing confirmation before you apply for a CPR-number online.
Apply for a Civil Registration Number (CPR number)
The CPR number is a personal 10-digit identity number. It is issued on a yellow health card, which entitles you to free healthcare in Denmark. The contact information of your assigned doctor will be on the yellow health card. Furthermore, you need your CPR number when dealing with authorities in Denmark.
