During the course of your programme, you have to choose and pass a specialisation. This gives you a more distinctive profile and it is an opportunity to point your academic profile in the direction you wish to go after graduation.
Specialisation options
As a student at DIM, you have the following options for choosing your specialization:
Recommended specialisation packages - You can choose one of the three established specialization packages offered by DIM. These packages are designed to provide a focused and coherent academic profile.
Specialisation – Mix and Match - Alternatively, you can create your own specialization by combining courses from DIM’s existing specialization pool. Note: You do not need to apply for an individual specialization when selecting courses from DIM’s specialization pool.
Individual specialisation (SAP Approval Required) - If you wish to include courses that are not part of DIM’s specialization pool, you can apply for an individual specialization via SAP. This option must meet the same official requirements as the established specialization packages. Since the specialization typically leads up to your thesis, it’s important to ensure a clear academic progression within your chosen courses.
See for general information about Specialisations and how to register.
A specialisation must amount to a total of 22,5 ECTS and consist of different specalisation modules placed on your 2nd and 3rd semester.

Individual specialisation
If you are set on other courses that are not offered in the pool of DIM specialisation courses you can apply for an individual specialisation.
An individual specialisation must meet the same official requirements as the specialisation packages. As the specialisation normally leads up to the thesis, you need to ensure a progression within the individual specialisation.
See here for how to apply for an individual specialisation.
