BootIT

It is not a prerequisite to be able to program to commence your BSc-studies in Software Development. However, if you do not have programming experience and you would like to get an idea as to what programming is all about before you start, BootIT might be interesting for you.

What is BootIT?
BootIT is an informal workshop, held before the semester begins, where you are briefly introduced to fundamental programming principles. Who will benefit from participating? BootIT is for students without prior experience with programming. At the workshop, we start from scratch with constants, variables, operators, assignments, comments, if-statements and while-loops in Java. If you know of this already, you are probably not a part of the intended target audience for this initiative. You are welcome to participate, but please notice that you will not learn any advanced programming during BootIT. This is introduced during the course “Grundlæggende Programmering”.

Should I bring anything?
Please bring a laptop.

What if I cannot participate?
BootIT is an offer, which some of our new students will benefit from. Everything that is taught in BootIT will be addressed during your first semester as well.

When and where
The workshop takes place at ITU August 16 -18 2023 at 9.00-17.00 in Auditorium 1 at ITU. We encourage you to participate in the entire workshop. Please sign up here.
