Application process

Before you apply
The general job description is complemented by role-specific job descriptions for all courses looking for TAs. As what is expected from a TA differ from course to course, it is important to read the role-specific job descriptions carefully.

It is also important to read the course description for the course you are interested in TA’ing for – maybe the course changed from when you took it.

Finally, it is important to check the schedule of the course(s) you are interested in TA’ing for so that it doesn’t clash with any of your other obligations. It is also important to consider the course schedules if applying for 2 or more courses.

To make it easier for you, we will put everything in one place! Find it HERE when it is ready.

The Application

When you apply for a TA position, you are required to complete the online application on https://en.itu.dk/about-itu/vacancies. Please note that only applications submitted via the online application will be considered.

As part of the application, you will be asked to select the course(s) you wish to apply for. You can select up to 3 positions, you wish to apply for. You must also tell us how many of the selected courses (in ECTS), you wish to be employed for. For example, you can select and apply for 3 courses, but you are only interested in being employed for 15 ECTS, either as a single 15 ECTS course or two 7.5 ECTS courses.

Please note that we no longer ask you to make a prioritised list, but ask you to list any and all courses that you can see yourself as a TA on. This in turn also means that if offered a course which you have selected and applied for, you are expected to accept this course.

You are also required to submit a motivated application (called cover letter) as well as a CV and a recent transcript of records. The motivated cover letter can cover more than one course. The CV can include any part-time jobs, volunteer positions, specific skills or courses you think is relevant for the role.

If you are enrolled as a student at ITU or another institution, you must upload an up-to-date transcript of records. If you are a graduate, you must upload a copy of your Bachelor's and/or Master's degree diploma (where relevant).

Please use your ITU email in the application process and when communicating with TA Support if you are an active ITU student.

After the Application Deadline
After the application deadline, TA Support qualify all applications. You may be contacted to clarify any details of your application.

Once all applications have been qualified, applications will be sent to the Course Managers for the individual courses for assessment and shortlisting.

When all Course Managers have completed their shortlisting, an email will be sent to all applicants, informing you of the decision made whether it is job offer or a rejection letter. All emails will be sent out around 07 June (for Summer University and Autumn courses / 01 December (for Spring courses).

If you are offered a TA position, you can expect a contract to be sent around 07 June (Summer and Autumn / 01 December (Spring). Please read the contract and addendum carefully and sign them as soon as possible and before the deadline given. You will then receive confirmation of receipt of signed contract and employment in form of a welcome letter. The Course Manager for the course will of course also be notified of your employment.

If you are not shortlisted, you will be notified and contacted if a job opens up f.ex. if someone else declines the TA position(s) you applied for. Your application may also be shared with Course Managers who have not had sufficient applications for their courses for their consideration. If relevant, you may then be offered a job on another course. You can expect to hear from us by 10 July / 10 Januar if we are able to offer you another position.
