Tutor for BSc

Are you passionate about creating a great and inclusive Study Start for our new BSc students?

We are once again looking for tutors to plan and facilitate this year’s Study Start for bachelor students.

If you are motivated, inclusive, and passionate about the study life at ITU, we would love to receive an application from you.

As a tutor, you will be asked to:

  • Plan the Study Start which can include academic and/or social activities.
  • Facilitate and organize the planned activities during the Study Start.
  • Introduce new students to the university and make them feel at home.
  • Participate in multiple meetings with your fellow tutors to engage in planning and teambuilding, which requires flexibility with your time during the semester.

As a tutor, we expect that:

  • You have the time and flexibility to fulfill your role.
  • You’re able to work and communicate openly in a diverse team.
  • You’re good at following your ideas through to completion.
  • You’re excited to meet the new students starting at ITU.

Important dates

Being a tutor is considered volunteer work. You can expect an average workload of 2-4 hours a week, although the number of working hours may fluctuate as the Study Start approaches.

Besides that, you must participate in the following:

  • Kick-off Weekend: April 4-5
  • Big Meeting 1: May 4
  • Big Meeting 2: August 9
  • Intro Week: August 18-20 + 22 (week 34)
  • Freshers' Festival: September 6
  • Final Evaluation: In September

We would also like to invite you to a non-mandatory Planning Trip/Cabin Trip, in the beginning of August. This will last for 4 days and will be between July 31 and August 6. Final dates will be announced later.

How and when to apply

Please send your cover letter in English (max 1 page) and relevant CV with a funny (if you feel okay with that) picture of yourself in one consecutive PDF file to the Head Tutor Team at studystart@itu.dk no later than March 20, 2025 at 23:59.

Furthermore, we will be conducting interviews in week 13. So feel free to include at what times you would NOT be available for an interview in the mail, and we will try to accommodate any requests. If accommodation is not possible, we still hope that you will prioritize the interview.

About the team

The tutor team will be divided into three teams. If hired, you will be introduced to the teams, but to keep it short:

The Academic Team is responsible for all activities during academic hours, which is Monday to Wednesday roughly between 09:00 and 16:00 in the Study Start Week (week 34). If you have any questions, write to Anna or Anders.

The Activity Team is responsible for all non-academic activities during all intro days. If you have any questions, write to Lukas or Signe Olivia.

The Freshers’ Festival team is responsible for the Freshers’ Festival. If you have any questions, write to Amanda or Mikkel.

Send your application to: studystart@itu.dk

We are looking forward to receiving your application!

All the best from,
