Interested in the role of money in sustainability? What would money look like if it wasn’t anchored on growth? In this talk titled "Ekhilur and Money for Life", Florencia Radeljak, PhD student at Lund University, explores a local, alternative currency "Ekhilur" and its digital manifestation in the Basque country. Using concepts from Actor Network Theory and Design for the Pluriverse, she asks what allows the enactment of degrowth principles in digital money. The discussion contributes to the broader debate on the complex relationship between money, technology, and sustainability, emphasizing the importance of politicizing networks that underpin digital money. This event is hosted by the Center for Climate IT.
