Dear new DIM students,
As your tutors, we are extremely excited to welcome you to ITU, and get you comfortable starting on the DIM program. As we have experienced it, there are a few elements that create great beginnings: Getting to know fellow DIMs, getting a feeling of ITU as study environment, having the practicalities in place, and (awkward) laughing when socializing with strangers. We have squished those elements into your Introduction Day, and we encourage everyone to join!
All of the Tutors started their DIM journey last year, and we are therefore highly invested in giving you a great kickoff! The Tutors have mixed educational backgrounds, just as you. One of the awesome aspects of DIM is the academic diversity, and we aim to facilitate you getting to know each other across the board. Even if you are familiar with ITU, maybe you are from Global Business Informatics like some of our Tutors, we highly recommend that you join in on this experience, as those cross-disciplinary relations you will get from the Intro Day, will be of great benefit for knowledge-sharing throughout the studies.
We will share information with you through two primary channels: Mail for formal messages and updates and Microsoft Teams for that + informal communication. Even though Teams is no Facebook, it has the advantage of being GDPR compliant, and it is helpful to be familiar with, as it is a popular platform for collaboration at ITU, but also in many workplaces. Come share your questions and memes with us there!
