Energy conservation

Europe has an energy crisis, and the prices of electricity and heating are soaring. Everyone will need to conserve as much energy as possible this winter and this goes for ITU as well.

You may have noticed that the hot water in the taps has been reduced and that temperatures in classrooms and auditoriums are lower than usual. This is due to a requirement from the Government requiring that we maintain 19 degrees in all public buildings. However, lowering room temperatures is not enough, and Facility Management (FM) is therefore currently working hard to implement further measures which can help conserve energy.

Among other things, lighting will be reduced. The measures taken to conserve energy can be found below. More measures might be implemented, and FM will make sure to keep everyone informed through readIT and this page.

Measures

This will apply in all classrooms and auditoriums.

The lightning has been reduced or turned of in the following places:

  • All outdoor lightning except lights necessary to maintain security at ITU has been turned off.
  • All art installations at RLV has been turned off.
  • Lighting in the atrium corridors will be reduced.
  • Lightning in the bicycle basement will be reduced
  • All Christmas lights will be turned off except during the Christmas party.

The hot water in the taps in all toilets and kitchens will be reduced.
