AI, energy, digital sovereignty and the resources we share.

Artificial intelligence is transforming our economy, research, industry and public sector. But AI does not exist in software alone. It relies on physical digital infrastructure: data centers, power grids, fiber networks and significant investment.

Denmark therefore faces some fundamental choices. How do we strengthen our digital competitiveness and sovereignty? How do we ensure that Denmark has the infrastructure needed for AI, cloud and the digital services of the future?

And how do we do so responsibly – in consideration of energy, climate, local communities and the resources we share as a society?

This open debate will bring together technology companies, researchers, climate organisations, policymakers, thought leaders and industry for an open discussion about the choices and dilemmas that will shape Denmark’s digital future.

The aim is not to reach consensus, but to create a more informed public debate about the principles and priorities that should guide the development of Denmark’s digital infrastructure over the next 10–20 years.
