Doing a project at ITU
A project is an independent or joint achievement, where the goals and contents are formulated by you / your group, but with an attached supervisor. You can always contact and align expectations with your supervisor.

When doing a project or thesis the exam form is a mix of:

- Exam submission
- Oral exam

Ordinary exam period:
May and June
Re-exam period:
August and September

Autumn semester
Ordinary exam period: December and January

Oral
exams

When you have handed in your project, you can start to prepare for your defence.

The oral exam will be held within four weeks after the deadline for submission.

As soon as your exam is planned, LearnIT will be updated with the time, date and room number of your oral exam.

Can my exam date be changed?

No.

Oral exams are planned later and can therefor end up overlapping with other exams you have.

Even though this is out of your control you cannot request a new date.

Location

Overlapping exams

If you have exams that overlap, sometimes it can make sense to go to the ordinary exam only for one of the courses or projects and for the other attend the re-exam.

Relying on the re-exam for one of the activities will fix the overlap and also free up time for more focused preparation for each exam.

Illness at exams

When the exam period starts and you exam is getting closer - what happens if you get ill?

Illness can prevent you from finishing your project or preparing for / attending the oral exam leading you to use an exam attempt.

Luckily you have three attempts, but if you need an exam attempt cancelled you can report illness at the exam.
