Specialisations

During your programme, you have to specialize by choosing an area of interest. This gives you a more distinctive profile and is an opportunity to point your academic profile in the direction you wish to go after graduation.

You can choose to follow one of the recommended combinations of courses, or you can make your own mix by combining courses from the specialisation course selections below – you just need to choose a minimum of 22,5 ECTS from the list of specialisation courses.

You register for the courses - not the specialisation
You cannot register for a specialisation. Instead, you must sign up for and pass the courses on the specialisation.

Individual specialisations
The specialisation courses are designed for the KSD students to follow. It is therefore strongly recommended to choose at least 22,5 ECTS from the specialisation list, and a maximum of 15 ECTS from the larger list of possible electives from other programmes.

If you want to take more than 15 ECTS from another programme, you need to apply for an individual specialisation of 22,5 ECTS. The specialisation need to be coherent within a given field, and fulfill the core curriculum of the KSD programme.

Before applying please do consult a lecturer/supervisor within the relevant academic area to get an indication of whether your plan for the individual specialisation looks reasonable. Please follow this link for information on how to apply.
