Possibilities and flexibility
Even when following the standard study structure for your programme, you will have to consider the options for your elective modules.

Having to decide on what to register for is a factor, if you have pushed courses and do not follow the standard study structure as well.

Make sure you choose correctly 
When choosing courses you need to be aware of formal prerequisites, expected knowledge and overlapping content and schedules.

When choosing electives - look into this

Courses offered from your own programme

Courses facilitated by your own Study Programme generally fit in with your acquired knowledge and skills, but you always need to check up on the formal prerequisites described in the course description.

If you are choosing electives approved for you, but from a different study programme, the course can require specific knowledge you might not have.

Read the course description carefully and If you are unsure you can contact the course manager.

Courses that overlap in content

Some courses have overlapping content, to the extent that you are only allowed to take one of them.

Check the course description since it will detail this.

Prerequisite and concurrent courses

Some courses might be harder to place randomly since they rely on having taken other courses beforehand or they are concurrent with other courses.

If this is the case check the "filter" options on the overview of your study structure accessible from "Your Progamme"
