Register for Spring: 1 - 10 December --- Register for Autumn: 1 - 10 June

You register for all your study activities

You need to register for all your study activities* yourself, meaning:

  • Mandatory courses
  • Electives
  • Specialisation courses (MSc)
  • Courses on your individual specialisation (MSc)
  • Projects, Bachelor project, Research project, Thesis
  • 3rd exam attempt (by registering for the course again)**
  • Summer University courses

* Always check up on pre-requisites and overlap
** Check here for detailed information about exam registrations

A limit to your registrations
You cannot exceed the registration limit of 37,5 ECTS pr. semester. The only exception is, if for the Spring semester you want to register for 37,5 ECTS + a Summer University course, then you write sap@itu.dk.

Where is the course I got approved?
Even though a course has been approved for you, it might not be accessible for you in My Study Activities, so you need to contact sap@itu.dk.
In general, if you have issues making a registration send an e-mail to sap@itu.dk in the registration period, and we will look into it.

First and second priorities

Your choice of second priority course will only be taken into consideration if you are not awarded a seat in the course(s) that you have given first priority.

For mandatory courses you don't need to choose a second priority, since your spot on the course is often a formality.

How to register for several electives at a time

The number of courses that you give first priority indicates the number of courses you want to register for.

If you need to register for two elective courses, you should give both courses first priority.
You can still choose one second priority in case one of your first priorities falls through.

ECTS used for pre-approvals?

Having a pre-approval means you have ECTS already set aside for a course elsewhere.

Remember to contact sap@itu.dk if you want us to cancel your registration. It can be necessary if you are trying to register for courses at ITU.

Rejected registration?

If your registration is rejected by the system (afvist, ingen plads, osv.), the registration team will look into it and contact you if needed. Often the team will be able to simply fix the registration.

Remember to keep an eye on your email during the registration period.

You do not need to notify SAP about rejected registrations!

The basics behind seat allocation

After the registration period the registration team will begin allocating the course seats.

When looking at your requests afterwards, a lot of factors are at play.
How many seats in total is offered for the course? How many other students requested a seat on the course.

When you register in the registration period you only request a spot on a course. The registration team will check if the course is mandatory for you, a specialisation course, a third exam attempt or an elective for you.

With everything taken into account the course seats are then allocated. See the principles for allocation of course seats here.
